Attorney SLU Calculator and Stipulation Tool

Below is an online spreadsheet that can be used to both calculate SLUs as well as draft a stipulation and fee request to go along with the SLU. Directions are below.

You can enter data into any of the colored cells. The numbers you enter will not save and will be lost when you leave of refresh the webpage.

  1. Enter the DOA and AWW in the two yellow-orange cells in the upper right of the spreadsheet (cells D117 and D118).
  2. Enter the SLU percentage in the light blue cell (C121).
    • Make sure you enter the percentage as a %.
  3. Select the body part by clicking on the cell (C122).
    • Then clicking the down triangle to use drop down menu in the cell to the right.
  4. If you inter the weeks of temporary total into cell G119, the weeks of PHP will be calculated and entered into the calculations.
    • In the alternative, you can type the PHP directly into the green cells in column J.
  5. You can enter prior payments, total employer reimbursement, and employer reimbursement already paid in row 119. Those numbers will then be incorporated into the calculations as well.
  6. You can also enter in the percentage of fee requested – the default is 15%. You can enter in a specific fee amount in column O if you do not want to claim the full 15% fee.
    • Please note: My attorney fee calculations are based only on money moving to the claimant, not employer reimbursement. I will probably add fee calculations out of employer reimbursement down the road.

Stipulation and Fee Tool

If you enter all the numbers in the SLU calculator, the numbers will automatically be copied into the stipulation/fee drafting tool. In the alternative, you can enter the numbers directly in rows 130 to 133. With the numbers filled in, it will draft much of a SLU stipulation and a corresponding fee request. Just click on those cells and copy (control-c) and past (control-v) into your document.
